Promote, Form, & Accompany Men To The Priesthood

As an apostolic society our members are engaged in apostolates that are consistent with the primary charism of the MSA of encouraging vocations to the priesthood.  The United States Province is focused on the following mission areas:

Seminary Professors and Administration:  MSA priests and brothers serve as professors and staff members at Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Cromwell, CT as well as other seminaries in the United States. To serve as a professor at a seminary generally requires a Doctorate degree.  Financial assistance may be available to assist priests having the necessary academic aptitude to finance the cost of receiving this degree.  We would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you the process of becoming a seminary professor as a MSA priest.

Retreat Centers:  Several MSA priests work at retreat centers which enables them to identify candidates to the priesthood as they serve the People of God.

Parish Missions: Our priests are available to conduct parish missions focused on a number of themes including Men’s Ministry, Confirmation preparation, and the Culture of Life.  A typical parish mission includes time of prayer, Mass, Reconciliation, and instruction on Catholic teachings.  The normally day begins with Mass at 8 AM and concludes with the Saturday vigil Mass at 5 PM.  Multi-day parish missions are also possible.  Please see the Parish Mission page of our website for upcoming dates and locations.

Parish Work:  Without losing sight of our charism of promoting vocations, MSA priests  serve the Church at local parishes in various parts of the United States.  When possible we try to have a minimum of three MSA members assigned to a parish so they can live a communal life as required by our Constitution.Any new apostolates must be approved by the Provincial Animator.  Before starting a new apostolate we ensure that it is consistent with our charism,  seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and ensure that it will allow members to live, pray, and work in community.
